What is Amazing About Hub Pages?
68I am sure we all have a certain spin about what makes a good hub. The issue is totally subjective but for some basics, like good writing, images, links etc. But, the hardest issue is a topic that becomes hot. Sure, we all write hubs based on our own personal interests and hobbies in hopes that the general public of hubbers will all connect with it and comment, sending your score up, up and away.
I have to laugh at some of the topics that seem to generate zillions of responses and think to myself, " why is that so interesting"? Some are simply stupid, IMO. Some are obvious topics to generate interest usually involving sex, hot men or women, or the granddaddy, how to make money on the internet or improve hubs.
Like movie execs when they produce a movie, it is all rather a gamble and depends on luck. Many movies during the course of their making are advertised as the next blockbuster, yet, the public simply finds it not so, and the millions spent is wasted on a some exec or director going on a hunch. Hubs are no different. We all usually write about what we think is interesting and hope that it attracts a wider audience on the Hubpages. No different than the movie exec or director.
Maybe from the specs, one can sort of see what hubbers seem to be interested in, but really, it is literally all over the board as far as topics go. As far as making money via Hubpages or Adsense etc., one really has to have high rankings to even make a couple of hundred bucks in a month from hits etc. This is assuming you follow all the advice from hubbers.
What topic may appeal to many, may not appeal to you in the least. What appeals to you, may appeal only to a few. Still, I grin and wonder why so many respond to some lame topics on Hubpages.
But that is the beauty, diversity. You are bound to find something of interest. Just write because you love to write and communicate. Don't worry about why you topic is not getting many responses.

Well, everyone has their niche and I am sure when some of you get a new hub notice from me, you sigh, and say, not interested.
Based on what you have seen you certainly know that everyone has there own niche'. I have been here almost three years and what I love to read is inspirational hubs, poems and enjoy other hubbers creativity. Thanks, AEvans, writing has always been easy for me and being creative about it is part of my niche. Writing a hubpage is not that different than writing a screenplay, as it is all about creativity, just because a writer may have a low score does not mean they write bad, only that the readers do not find the topics interesting.
You are absolutely correct - like movie execs - what clicks and works is sometimes a surprise. I love the variety of the topics, the depth of the information and the feeling that I can attend a fun dinner party (a global party at that!) by just sitting at my computer. Hub Pages is amazing!
Thanks for a great hub. You know, my intention of writing hubs is to educate readers. I am putting myself on the shoes of the internet users. I know what people want to find and I always make it a point that what I am writing is just one of the topics they are typing on the browsers. Whether my hubs give me money or not it is not much of my concern because I am more interested in providing people useful information. More power to you and may God bless you and your loved ones.

I am new but wrote 2 hubs. I think they are pretty good if the topic is interesting for the person but I love hubpages. It is a great thing and am enjoying it thus far. Great hub. I just followed you.
