The Rare Australian 1991-94 Mercury Capri Clubsprint

There is no doubt that the rarest of all the 1991-94 Mercury Capri's is the Clubsprint model. This model was a special order and only available in Australia when the Capri was being made there. The Clubsprint was not imported to the USA.
The Clubsprint was an XR2 turbo model at heart. The differences were really cosmetic, yet really made it a nicer, cooler Mercury Capri. The Taillights were oval and separated resembling the Corvette in some years. The seats were blue leather. The steering wheel was those found on racing cars. The front of the car also had to larger, round foglights. The top trunk that houses the convertible top, was also designed so it would hide and cover the rear seat. It made for a real cool looking two seater, which some found a negative (since they wanted a rear seat). The suspension and engine were not altered, but the car had 16 x 6.6" wheels, which made for the largest wheel on the Capri.
It is not known just how many of the Clubsprint were ordered and made, but if you own one, it is definitely a collector car, more so than the Capri XR2, which was imported to the USA.

HI I own a 1992 clubsprint capri with only 110k's on it...nice car and definately a collectable as only 200 Black Pearls made in 1992. Hard finding one with low k's on her.... Im going to restore mine like if it was new which aint going to take me long. The people I pourchased it from used it as a daily car but not driving it much so had shopping trolly dents, the alluminium CSA polshed rims wernt polished and it was looking rather neglected. I think a respray is in line, re leather the seats as over time they have worn from sun/UV Rays. Front Fibrglass bumper has a crack from hitting car park stoppers. I'll aslo clean up teh engine bay and get all teh dust and surface corrosion off.....
I like the rear tail lights, but the 94 tail lights will have to do on mine.
lookin for the motors for my headlights an a tune up for my 92 merc capri love it would hate to see her go any info let me kno thanks
The headlights can be manually raised and lowered, motors are easily replaced do a search for capri parts. Tuneups, most mechanics can do them if you have the specs for timing. The engine is a mazda engine used in the 90-93 Miatas.
