The High Price of the Afghanistan War Worsens
61It may only be temporary, that is, Pakistan's trite response to the provoked attack that killed 24 soldiers along the border, but Pakistan's closure of the US supply line from Karachi into Afghanistan at two locations has had an impact.
Try, $400 for a gallon of gas for US troops in more remote locations.
This is because the fuel is being airdropped and when all of the costs are included, it takes a fuel just to deliver a gallon of gas in large drums. The C-130s load up and fly hundreds of miles expending large amounts of their own fuel just to drop barrels of fuel on remote outposts. Using convoys originating at Kabul is simply too dangerous and slower. Convoys require a large security force to escort them. The smallest drop zones require pinpoint accuracy to hit the 60x150 ft. area. Some are much larger, 300 yds long. Most of the drops parachute in 34,000 pounds of fuel.
So, when you are filling up at $3.70 a gallon, now, courtesy of Pakistan, you can REALLY be thankful.

You have not considered the loss Pakistan has borne. Moreover, Pakistan has suffered a loss of more than 100 billion dollars and got only $20 billion dollars in aid of which $12 billion is reimbursement which is not aid, that is our money. After doing calculation, we had a loss of $100 billion and a compensation from US was merely $8 billion in ten years. PLEASE KEEP YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT.
Great insight. Why are we still throwing away money there? No wonder Karzai wants us to stay until 2030, he is living well off US taxpayers. Time to cut him out.

US should thank Pakistan for its support. The war in Afghanistan should end, otherwise it would de-stablise the region further.
